What Is OP-CB Kit?
Introduction
Technology
A new material based on encapsulation of the enzyme in silica matrices was developed for rapid screening of OP and CB pesticide residues in vegetables. In the presence of pesticide residues, the AChE is partially or completely inhibited; this causes the development of yellow colour to slow down or stop. This colour indicates whether the residue exceeds the threshold level or not.
The entrapped enzyme is stable in the sol-gel matrix for 6 months when stored at 4°C and the assay is very rapid and it takes only around 30 minutes from sampling to completion of test.

The organophosphate (OP) and carbamate (CB) pesticides that are widely used in agriculture sector can give neurotoxic effects on developing organisms, even from low levels of exposure, by inacticating the acetylcholinesterase (AChE) enzyme which is essential to nerve functions in insects, humans and animals. Prolonged intake of these pesticides pose numerous problems to human. Therefore, continuous monitoring of the pesticide residues in vegetables before marketing is important to fulfil consumers' demand for safe food. However, the existing method practised by monitoring and regulatory agencies in the country is time consuming, expensive and highly technical.

BioPryn for cow and goat
What is BioPRYN?
BioPRYN is a preferred means of pregnancy detection in cows and goats.
Why BioPRYN?
Accuracy
Open Females:
99% - 100% correct when a female is designated as not pregnant. Animals can be safely re-enrolled in a synchronization program
Pregnant Females:
95% correct when a female is designated pregnant. This percentage is lower due to early embryonic death. Even though the embryo has died, some residual pregnancy protein may still present in the blood.
BioPRYN is a preferred means of pregnancy detection in cows and goats.
- Accurate results 28-30 days post-breeding
- Convenient and versatile, allowing you to schedule pregnancy testing when it fits your schedule
- Cost-effictive and easier way to check for pregnancy than ultrasound
- Non-invasive and embryo-safe, reducing the risk of damaging a pregnancy and causing embryo loss.
Why BioPRYN?
- Provides flexibility in scheduling pregnancy testing dates
- Fits within synchronized breeding protocol
- Accurate results 28 days post-breeding
- Low risk to embryo

Food Safety
Seromonitoring
An assessment of immune status in the broiler breeders, layers and other livestock requires a measurement of antibodies in serum.Enzyme immunoassay systems using specific antigen-antibody capture (ELISA) have proven efficacious in the quantification of antibody levels. Titers are measured and calculated using software. With additional information such as age of flock and vaccination program, a baseline can be generated.
An ongoing program of testing for antibodies to critical pathogens of livestock is essential for improving vaccination programs and for rapid detection of failures in a vaccination program or breakdowns in a flock bio-security program.
Halal Certification
Halal is a form of social obligation and it boosts customers' trust and confidence in products. Hence, halal certification provides tremendous export opportunities and have a competitive advantage over other food companies. Halal certification benefits all consumers as it not only covers religious requirements but it also imposes strict hygiene practices.
Compartmentalisation
In the veterinary services, compartmentalisation has been applied in many disease control program that are based on the concept of disease-free herds/flocks. Specific diseases surveillance, control and biosecurity measures has been applied for the purpose of international trade.
Pesticides Residues
How safe are the vegetables and fruits available today? It is estimated that more than 50 per cent of food products are contaminated with pesticide residues; and a substantial percentage of these contain residues above the tolerance levels.
